A SWINE FLU (H1N1) advice leaflet is encouraging students to “find a buddy” in case the University of Manchester is hit by fresh wave of the virus.



Students are urged to seek a partner in a pre-emptive measure should the pandemic take hold. Part of the role would be getting medication for the ‘buddy’ should they get sick.



“Remember that you can be a buddy for someone too and so please make sure that you swap contact email and mobile phone numbers with your buddy today!” the leaflet suggests.



The University claims to be “well-prepared” for a flu pandemic, having issued advice to both staff and students asking them to register with a local GP, as well as featuring further preventative steps and details of the symptoms of the disease.



Manchester Metropolitan University has given talks to lecturers as well as holding weekly meetings with senior staff to discuss swine flu.
